1. Who is doing the mowing?
If it is your own property, a homeowner zero-turn — ZT, ZT X, ZT XL, ZT HD — is built for the hours you will actually put on it. If someone is paid to run it every day, go commercial: a Pro-Turn frame is designed for thousands of hours, not hundreds.
2. How much ground?
Under an acre, a narrower deck is plenty and easier to store. One to four acres is the ZT XL’s ground (42″ to 52″). Above four, deck width and frame both matter — a ZT HD (44″ to 60″) or a Pro-Turn. Above ten, you are choosing between the widest deck in the line (60″ to 72″) and running two machines.
3. What is the property like?
Open and flat rewards the widest deck you can fit. Trees, beds and fences reward a narrower deck and a tighter turning machine — the passes you save on width, you lose on trimming. Slopes call for a stand-on, which puts your weight low and lets you step off. Gated back yards are decided by the gate: measure it before anything else.
4. Sit, stand or walk?
Sitting is most comfortable over hours and fastest on open ground. Standing gets you into gates a rider cannot clear and is quicker on and off for crews doing many small properties — Pro-Stance (32″ to 60″) and Z-Stance (32″ to 52″). Walking is for steep or small ground where nothing else fits: Pro-Walk (36″ to 60″).
5. Gas or battery?
Battery machines — the Pro-Turn EV and Pro-Stance EV — are quiet enough for early hours, schools, campuses and neighbourhoods with noise windows, and there is no fuel to handle. Ask a Koenig rep about run time against your daily acreage; that is the one number worth checking before you commit.

Common questions
Which Gravely mower should I buy?
Four things decide it: how much you cut, whether the machine has to fit through a gate, how steep the ground is, and whether you want to sit, stand or walk. Acreage sets the deck width, the gate caps it, slope decides the platform.
What size mower deck do I actually need?
A wider deck cuts faster but needs more room to turn and more width to clear a gate. Measure your narrowest gate first. The deck size guide walks through it.
What is the difference between the homeowner and commercial Gravely lines?
Duty cycle. The homeowner series is built for your own property; the Pro-Turn line is built for a machine that runs most of the day, most days — heavier deck gauge, bigger drivetrain, more serviceable.
